The central module delineates two primary spaces: a teahouse and reception area at the front, and a yoga practice space at the rear. Seamless connectivity between these areas ensures a natural progression, facilitating a sense of continuity and cohesion.
Materiality and Construction
To evoke warmth and simplicity, natural materials such as wood, concrete, and brick were employed. Imperfections in concrete and exposed installations contribute to an industrial aesthetic, enhancing the studio’s connection to nature and tranquility.
Furniture and Lighting
Furniture selection plays a pivotal role in reflecting the philosophy of yoga. Continuous bar designs in the tearoom foster trust, while strategically placed shelves promote orderliness in the classroom. Symbolism associated with sunlight is integrated into the design through mirror shapes and lighting, emphasizing the importance of connection with natural elements.
